Learn the Difference Between Oversteer and Understeer

When you have a better understanding of what the trouble is with your vehicle, you can have repairs done more accurately. The team at Duncan Acura wanted to bring awareness to the differences between an oversteer and understeer.

An understeer simply means lack of grip of the tire on the road. The trouble is that if you do not get this issue addressed quickly, the vehicle can and will leave the road around certain turns. Sharp turns in the road can create a serious problem as you'll struggle to keep your vehicle on the road surface.

The oversteer is the opposite, where the vehicle makes too tight of a turn. When this occurs, the rear of your vehicle can fish tail, or spin out, and put you in a very dangerous position. If the vehicle does spin, you may run off the road or slide into the other lane and oncoming traffic.
