Avoiding Auto Accidents in the Rain

You do not want to be one of the 1.2 million drivers who are involved in an auto accident in rainy conditions each year. Stay safe on the road this summer by preparing your car with regular maintenance, including inspecting your tire pressure and tread, before you start driving in the rain.

The number one rule for driving in the rain is that you should reduce your speed without suddenly using the brakes. Try to reduce your speed to 35 mph or less. Definitely avoid using cruise control in the rain. If you do have to use the brake rather quickly, you might notice your car start to skid. If this happens, try not to panic. You should keep your gaze fixed on the direction your car should be going in because this will keep you from veering off.

Our staff at Duncan Acura can help you drive safer in the rain this summer with regular maintenance.
